OPEN FOR
20 MENS TEAMS AND 20 LADIES TEAMS
The Men’s Cup is open for 20 teams playing a round robin in 4 groups of 5 teams.
The best two teams from each group will play in the quarter finals, where the top ranked teams will play the second ranked team from another group. The winners play the semi finals and then the final.
The loosing teams in the semifinals will be ranked 3rd.
The total purse is NOK 160.000 (CAN $ 30.000). The winning team gets NOK 60.000 (CAN $ 11.000), and prize money will be awarded to the best 8 teams. Entry fee is NOK 5000 pr. team.
The Women’s Cup is open for 20 teams playing a round robin in 4 groups of 5 teams.
The best two teams from each group will play in the quarter finals, where the top ranked teams will play the second ranked team from another group. The winners play the semi finals and then the final.
The loosing teams in the semifinals will be ranked 3rd.
The total purse is NOK 100.000 (CAN $ 18.500). The winning team gets NOK 40.000 (CAN $ 7.400), and prize money will be awarded to the best 8 teams. Entry fee is NOK 3.500 pr. team.
The matches start Thursday 23. September.
Eight men’s teams will play at 11:00 hrs, and eight ladies teams will play at 13:10 hrs. A few teams play their first match Friday morning, meaning that we can be flexible with regards to tight travel arrangements.
Tied games will be decided with one extra end, and tie-breakers will be played to qualify the teams with equal records for the quarter finals according to WCF rules.
Semi finals are scheduled for Sunday 26. September at 13:00 hrs, and the finals at 16:00 hrs, but changes may e necessary to accommodate live television coverage.
Presentation of prizes and the Canadian Embassy Fair Play Award take place at Sunday at 18:15 hrs.

To make you enjoy your stay in Oslo we have included the following events in the entry fee:
Rudolphs Party Thursday evening we serve you lapplandish reindeer and Norwegian aquavit.
Taco Night Friday evening a buffet consisting of Tacos with all the trimmings.
Banquet Saturday evening we arrange a curlers party with disco at Radisson Blu Park Hotel and a Calcutta for the remaining 16 teams.

Snarøyahallen is located 10 minutes drive from Oslo centre. The distance from Gardemoen Airport to Oslo centre is 40 km. Express trains with departure every 20 minutes takes you to the hotel in 25 minutes.
Free shuttle service will be available between the train station, the hotel and the curling arena.
The organising committee reserves the right to change the format of the tournament depending of the number of entries.
